Quick start with SomonScript
To work with SomonScript you only need Node.js and the CLI. Once they are installed you can run .som files on macOS, Windows or Linux.
1. Install Node.js
Go to nodejs.org and download the LTS version, or use a package manager (nvm, Homebrew, Chocolatey).
# Check the Node.js and npm versions
node -v
npm -v
2. Install the SomonScript CLI
Once Node.js is installed, install the SomonScript CLI globally.
npm (recommended):
npm install -g @lindentech/somon-script
3. Your first script
Create the file hello.som and run it with the CLI.
echo 'чоп.сабт("Салом, Ҷаҳон!");' > hello.som
somon run hello.som
Quick install
somon-quick-start.sh
# NPM (for most users)
npm install -g @lindentech/somon-script
# Use in an existing project
npm install @lindentech/somon-script --save-dev
# First example
echo 'чоп.сабт("Салом, Ҷаҳон!");' > hello.som
somon run hello.som
System requirements
- Node.js 20 or newer (LTS recommended)
- npm or another package manager (npm comes with Node.js)
- macOS, Windows or Linux
